A National Program to Inculcate Ethics & Values in Children through Video Animated Songs
INTRODUCTION
Children in Sri Lanka are navigating a world filled with complex moral dilemmas and often lack the guidance to cultivate essential values like kindness, honesty, and respect. Rotary and the Ministry of Education have collaborated to fill this void with an activity-based program titled Little Minds Strong Values (LMSV), which attracts children with engaging, value-embedded, video-animated songs that teach core values while inspiring the children to express these values through the performing arts.

ABOUT LMSV
Methodology: The program features 32 Sinhala and Tamil songs with 50 core values built into the lyrics. We encourage children to learn and express these values through mediums they love, such as song, dance, drama, and art.
Values Taught: We teach over 50 essential values, including respecting others, honesty, environmental preservation, road safety, kindness to animals, and the importance of education.
Our Goal: We aim to inspire children to practice these values daily, building a foundation for a well-mannered, compassionate, socially responsible, and inclusive society in Sri Lanka.

Rtn. PP Rukshan Perera
"Music is the fastest way to a child's heart — and values are the foundation of a nation."
Rukshan Perera is an established composer, director and multi-instrumentalist who conceptualized Little Minds Strong Values at the Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan — bringing ethics into early education through video animated songs.
He composed, directed and produced a DVD of 30 Sinhala & Tamil songs, leading a Rotary team to disseminate the programme to children across Sri Lanka.
